If we’re talking about mock meats that strongly resemble the corpses of other animals, okay, this is problematic in the context of a deeply speciesist society. However, if we are talking about chunks of protein that are shaped and flavored and don’t resemble anyone, then these are foods I’m not especially worried about.

Admirably, they do so before the knowledges and memories are lost to the ages, as the original members are well into their golden years with some having already passed.

In such situations, animals are frequently objectified as symbols of this global superiority. Any resulting welfare legislation is likely to support the myth of “Great” Britain, but highly unlikely to fundamentally challenge the state’s entitlement to nonhuman bodies, labour or lives.
